Recreation & Tourism

The Moray Firth provides a wide range of opportunities for coastal and marine based recreation and leisure activities, from cycle and walking routes, sailing clubs and commercial tourism activities.

Tourism in the area is supported by Visit Scotland and the Scottish Tourism Alliance. On a more local level various destination organisations promote individual areas and businesses.

The Moray Firth Coastal Partnership will engage with recreation and leisure sectors to promote the sustainable use of the Moray Firth, and encourage businesses, individuals and organisations, to protect the natural environment, providing sustainable solutions as required.

Our vision is that tourism and other recreational use of the Moray Firth is sustainably managed, encouraging access and responsible enjoyment, adhering to codes of practice where applicable for example the work done in respect of protecting our Bottlenose Dolphins in the inner Moray Firth underpinned by the Dolphin Space Programme.
