Our Firth, Our Seafood Project
The fishing industry has been important to the people of the Moray Firth for hundreds of years, and the Moray Firth Coastal Partnership would like this connection to continue, by supporting local fish producers.
For this reason, we are producing a series of recipe cards as part of our ‘Our Firth, Our Seafood’ project, in collaboration with the Regional Inshore Fisheries Groups and Seafood Scotland that local fish merchants can distribute to their customers. The scallops with squid, lemon and parsley recipe is courtesy of Lady Claire MacDonald and the smoked mackerel and feta cheese ciabatta recipe is courtesy of Seafood Scotland.
The Moray Firth Coastal Partnership work with the Regional Inshore Fisheries Groups to identify ways in which we can provide sustainable solutions and support fisheries. We can all protect fish stocks by making environmentally responsible choices when buying seafood. The recipe cards promote sustainable species in accordance with the Marine Conservation Society’s good fish guide. We hope that these recipe cards will inspire you to try something new, and enjoy delicious Scottish seafood.
