The Moray Firth Partnership
The Moray Firth Partnership will celebrate it's 20 year anniversary of being founded this year! The Moray Firth project set up in 1993 by Scottish Natural Heritage as part of the Firths Initiative, in response to the Rio Earth Summit call for sustainable integrated coastal zone management (ICZM). The Partnership went on to become established as a charity and company limited by guarantee in 1999. We are a not-for-profit organisation that promotes joined-up thinking in marine and coastal zone management. We help people and organisations find new ways to communicate and work together to keep the Moray Firth's natural, economic and social resources in good heart, now and for future generations. This web site is being developed to provide a "one stop shop" for information about the Moray Firth area, its environment, resources and people, as well as links to key national and international legislation and information resources.
The Moray Firth is the largest of Scotland's firths, situated in the far north east of Scotland. It acts as a food provider, industrial base, seaway, playground, wildlife haven, tourist magnet and energy resource, as well as being home to over 250,000 people, who live and work in over 100 towns and villages along its coast.
