Amazing news for SCRAPbook and the Moray Firth Partnership

Following the fantastic reaction to the launch of the coastal litter map (SCRAPbook), the Scottish Government is investing £100,000 in the project.

The Moray Firth Partnership, with our project partners Sky Watch and MCS, are delighted. We are really proud that the project that started here in the Moray Firth will now map marine litter all around Scotland.

Announcing the funding, Minister for the Natural Environment Mairi Gougeon said:

“Supporting projects like SCRAPbook, which is instrumental in helping to reduce coastal waste, directly aligns with the government’s commitment to tackling the threat marine litter poses to Scotland’s environment and coastlines.

“I’m confident the project’s pioneering work will act as a springboard for other organisations to take action in the ongoing fight against one of this generation’s most critical issues.”

We would encourage everyone to have a look at the map on SCRAPbook and see where your friends, colleagues or school can help to clean up our fantastic coast.
